Entering the Association

Hunan Botanical Extract Association is a non-profit social economic organization voluntarily formed by companies (groups), industrial enterprises, as well as related research institutions, educational bodies, social organizations, and individuals legally engaged in the research, development, production, and sales of botanical extracts. It operates within Hunan Province and is a social entity legally registered with the Hunan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs.

The Association was initiated in March 2009 under the advocacy of Academician Liu Zhonghua. An application for establishment was submitted to the Hunan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs in May 2010, and the Association was officially established in August 2014. The first council was elected at its founding, followed by the second and third leadership elections in August 2018 and April 2023, respectively. The Association currently has 79 member companies, with a total annual output value of approximately 8.5 billion yuan (counting only botanical extract production).

The Association serves as a bridge between the industry and government departments, coordinating administrative communications, organizing industry events, and hosting the annual Hunan Botanical Extract Annual Conference and Botanical Extract Summit Forum. These events attract nearly 1,000 botanical extract professionals from across the country each year. By 2026, the Association has successfully held 16 sessions of the Annual Conference & Forum, as well as 5 sessions of the Botanical Extract Innovative Products Exhibition.
